Very secluded, private island on Leigh Lake Flowage/Reservoir. Leigh Lake is a 238-acre, 52’ deep lake north of Kelly Lake in Oconto County.
Access to the lake and island is via a boat landing. An easement to a back channel behind the island is included.
1969 DNR lake map shows main part of property, the island, as half an acre. Elevations indicate that an estimated 400 sq ft of the island is high, dry and out of wetland and floodplain. The remainder of the property serves as wildlife habitat and buffer from distant neighbors. The current owners boat to the island to camp in the summer; zoning suggests the possibility of building a boathouse and privy.
Leigh Lake is known for Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike and Walleye. Clean, deep water is great for swimming and full-rec boating with wake and no-wake hours. Wake hours are 10am – 6pm with quiet no-wake all other hours. This is like being in Canada, but only an hour north of Green Bay.
From Green Bay take US-141/41 north to Co Rd M to right on Co Rd B to left on Lee Lake Rd to right on Lee Lake Park Ln to boat launch.
