This part of the property is studded with mature white pines that frame the views of the Little River. Since you would own the shoreline across the Little River you would never see another home or cottage across the water.
Some areas of the Oconto River were heavily developed with home upon home. With the majority of this acreage being wooded river bottoms and with the way it adjoins the neighbor and the roads, this is about as private and secluded as one could hope for in this near north location. As for the Oconto River it is noted as a Class III Trout stream with 2016 - DNR stockings both Brown & Brook Trout. Other hits on the internet mention that the water below the dam if great to wade and spring and fall runs of salmon and trout can be good. Other species present are bluegill, bass, walleye and crappie.
Nearby lake fishing includes a nearby boat launch onto the Machickanee Flowage. This 430 acre lake has a max depth of 21 feet and is known for Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass and Northern Pike. A few miles downriver the Oconto River and Oconto Harbor and the Bay of Green Bay provide some of the best Walleye fishing in all of Wisconsin.
The nearby small crossroad towns of Stiles and Abrams provide quick access to fuel, lunch spots and ice cream. Just to the east of the property the small city of Oconto offers grocery stores, shopping and restaurants. For major shopping, medical needs, a full service airport, and of course the Green Bay Packers, the hometown city of Green Bay is just 25 miles down the highway.
